7th June 2014 (Sat) - District Cub 6-a-side Football competition

A team of eight Cubs from 10th Worcester competed in and won (for a record third year running) the Worcester District Cub Scout Six-a-side Football Competition.

The competition was against six other teams from five other Worcester Cub Packs. The competition comprised of two groups of teams playing a league followed by a semi-final of the winner of one group playing the runner up from the other group, followed by the final.

We had a slow start not scoring many goals but just scraped through to the semi-finals as Group Runner Up on goals scored. We faced 2nd Worcester who had scored 23 goals in their Group to be Group Winners. A hard fought match showed that the 23 goals wasn't all it seemed and we won.

The final was a re-run of the 2012 final between us and 8th Worcester Woden. Again another well contested match that went on to extra time, followed by penalties, and then sudden death penalties. We won on the first penalty as Sam scored but the 8th missed.

Well done to Charlie(Goal), Daniel, Ewan, Harry, Ryan, Sam(Capt), Tom and Will.

Thanks to Phil for his coaching.
