Jamboree on the Internet (JOTI) - Sat 19th Oct 2013

10th Worcester Cubs taking part in JOTI 2013

Cubs from the Tenth took part in their first Jamboree on the Internet (JOTI) on Saturday 19th Oct 2013. They met up at the Scout HQ and spent an hour talking to Scouts from around the world via the Scoutlink internet chat room. Contact was made with Scouts from six of the seven continents (though there aren’t too many Scouts on Antarctica so that would have been difficult).

Contacts were made with Norway, Holland, Antigua, USA (Michigan, Alaska, & Colorado), Canada, Malaysia, Australia, South Africa, Venezuela, Germany, Spain, Malta, Cyprus, & Italy. The contact from Cyprus said they had been a student at Worcester University in the past.

They also made contact with Scouts closer to home in Ludlow, Gloucester, and Rotherham.

Cubs who took part gained a credit towards the International part of their Global Challenge Badge.
